Celebrate 25 years of conservation, community, and connection on the trail with us!
Join the Wareham Land Trust on Saturday, January 24th, for a special guided hike at the Douglas S. Westgate and Fearing Hill Conservation Areas in celebration of our 25th anniversary. This meaningful walk honors the place where the Wareham Land Trust’s conservation journey began, when we partnered with the Town of Wareham to help protect this beloved landscape for the community.
Led by Wareham Land Trust board member Kathy Pappalardo, this guided 2.1 mile hike will explore the trails of Douglas S. Westgate and Fearing Hill while reflecting on the history of the property and the Land Trust’s early conservation efforts. Participants will enjoy scenic woodland paths, views of the Weweantic River, gentle terrain, and a chance to connect with the land that helped shape our mission. There is one steep hill along the route, so feel free to bring a walking stick and be sure to wear proper footwear. After the hike, you are invited to warm up with coffee and hot chocolate at the trailhead.
This hike is free and open to all and welcomes both longtime supporters and those new to the Wareham Land Trust. Parking is available at the Douglas S. Westgate Parking Lot (9 Papermill Road, West Wareham).
Please dress for the weather, wear sturdy footwear, and bring water.
