Veterans and the community alike are invited to gather on Main Street ahead of the 10 am parade start. Veterans wishing to ride along in the dedicated Veterans Trolley can secure their spot by contacting warehamvetsdayorg@gmail.com. With gratitude for their service, veterans can look forward to joining friends and family members for this special tribute ride.
This year’s parade is packed with exciting features for all ages. The Massachusetts State Police will make a notable appearance, bringing their Mounted Horse Unit, K-9 Unit, and Air Unit to celebrate the day. Honored guests, including Former Grand Marshals, will ride through the route on the beautiful HKS Clydesdale horses, accompanied by floats, marching bands, colonial militia with a fife and drum corps, and community groups. Scouts, JROTC students, and Key Club members will be along the route, sharing patriotic beads, pins, and flags to commemorate the occasion.
Following the parade, everyone is encouraged to gather at Centre Park for a ceremony in honor of our veterans. The event will feature music from the McGann Marching Band, a keynote address from Harold Skelton of Fishing For The Mission 22, and a moving tribute to veterans we’ve lost, including a moment of silence and the playing of taps by Chris Berg. Attendees will receive a poppy from the Onset VFW, a symbol of remembrance dating back to the first Veterans Day in Europe. Veterans are invited to a complimentary luncheon hosted by Warren’s Harborview Restaurant at the Congregational Church Hall following the ceremony.
